A few scribbled words, a loose doodle – that's all it takes to spark young minds and ignite a lifelong love of literacy. The SQUIGL Club brings this magic to life, connecting kids in remote communities through the power of stories and creativity.
This unique online club, developed by picture book author and illustrator Andy Geppert in partnership with Somerset Storyfest and the Longreach School of Distance Education (LSODE), offers a vibrant space for kids to explore their imaginations and unlock their creative potential.
Through engaging picture books and interactive activities, the SQUIGL Club teaches a very special lesson: a vivid imagination can take you anywhere.
What to Expect:
Interactive Sessions: Join us for approximately 8 online sessions per year, each lasting 30-45 minutes.
Small Group Learning: We prioritise small groups per screen to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate and interact.
Supportive Environment: For classrooms, a class assistant is recommended to further enhance the learning experience.
Creative Exploration: We encourage children to express themselves through stories, drawings, and other creative outlets.
Connections: Meet some of Australia’s top picture book makers as they join Andy for special SQUIGL Club episodes.
