Contour drawing and eye training fun.

SQUIGL CLUB EP4.

In Episode 4, we dove deep into Jon Agee’s masterpiece ‘I Want a Dog’. A beautifully crafted book that stands out on the shelf and is packed full of fun. We planned out our secret squirrel project and SQUIGL’d our favourite toys to use as a benchmark to compare back to early next year! The snowball is building. Or should I say hay bail? I can’t wait for the next one. But for now, I am off to Somerset Storyfest :)

Wings, SQUIGL’s & Surprises!

SQUIGL CLUB EP3.

What a blast! Episode 3 saw our LSODE SQUIGL Clubbers drawing "things with wings" (a turkey phoenix, of course), getting a sneak peek at a brand-new book I'm working on, AND hearing about a very special project they'll be part of this year!

The energy and creativity was once again contagious. Connecting with these kids living on vast properties through a shared love of books and art is amazing. Special thanks to the LSODE teachers and educators in Longreach! Stay tuned for more SQUIGLing adventures!

Officially Launched!

SQUIGL CLUB EP2.

With great excitement, I share the news that the LSODE SQUIGL CLUB officially went live this morning to around 200 kids from remote and rural communities OUT WEST and all around Australia! How cool is that?

We discussed club ingredients and ways the kids can shape the club next year! Two winners won as we announced the first-ever Christmas Cow SQUIGL Competition results, we read, we drew a snowman with our eyes shut and we spoke about exciting things to come.

Surprisingly we finished right on time and my smile matched the tiny tiles on my screen.

Merry Christmas! Stay tuned for some super fun announcements next year!

Introducing SQUIGL Club!

SQUIGL CLUB EP1.

After my recent trip to Longreach for Storyfest OUT WEST, I was inspired by an incredible 9-year-old who travelled 13 hours to listen to me talk about my passion for making picture books.

After a truly special writer's festival and a visit to the inspiring LSODE headquarters, a neat idea was born to continue sharing books and spark the imaginations of kids in remote and rural communities all over Australia. I'm so excited to announce the launch of SQUIGL Club!

Our first episode is coming up next week, and we're ready to get squiggling on some wild and wonderful ideas. We're hoping to turn this unique gathering into something truly special.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments!
